Pyrewood Village

Location · The Before · In WoW lore

A logging town in Silverpine Forest, under the shadow of Shadowfang Keep. When Dalaran fell, Arugal fled south to the keep above the village and called worgen out of the Emerald Dream to hold a line against the Scourge. The worgen did not hold it. They turned first on the mages who had summoned them, then on the town below, and the curse meant for an enemy settled instead on Pyrewood’s own people.

The village still stands, after a fashion. Its streets are walked by what the townsfolk became: an elder, a tailor, watchers at the gate, sentries on the wall, all cursed and all armed, all answering to Son of Arugal in Arugal’s name. Nothing in Pyrewood was ever evacuated. It was only changed.
